San Diego Mesa College freshman Isaiah Labra placed 12th in the men's 8-kilometer race at the UC Riverside Highlander Invitational at the Ag-Ops course in Riverside, Calif. Labra clocked 24:57.6, the fourth-fastest time by a two-year college athlete and the top time by a California two-year college athlete, helping San Diego Mesa finish 14th with 349 points. El Paso Community College from Texas was the top two-year college, taking fifth with 136 points, and Glendale Community College was the top California two-year college, securing 11th with 282 points.
